Fans were unable to buy replica England goalkeeper shirts for this summer’s Women’s World Cup after Nike chose not to retail them.

It is understood the decision was made due to their belief that goalkeepers’ tops do not sell well.

Earps has now hit back at the brief 104-word statement released by Nike on Monday.

Nike also insisted: “We are working towards solutions for future tournaments, in partnership with FIFA and the federations.”

However, Earps was less than impressed as she shared a screenshot of the statement to her Instagram story.

Alongside the statement, she wrote: “@Nike is this your version of an apology/taking accountability/a powerful statement of intent?”

Despite the Manchester United keeper winning the tournament’s golden glove and saving a penalty in the final, fans were unable to buy her jersey.

The decision left youngsters unable to replicate the heroics of the Lionesses star.

Meanwhile, her parents were forced to wear Earps’ match-worn shirts from earlier in the tournament as they attended Sunday’s defeat to Spain.

Earps’ social media rant comes after she released her own t-shirt line as an alternative to the unavailable Nike jerseys.

The two designs released by the England stopper have already sold out online.
